Prompt: New directions in feminist political ecology

As part of the Kentucky Political Ecology Working Group's continuing series on key ideas in political ecology, we're soliciting short (300 words or less) essays on emerging feminist political ecologies. We ask, 'what are the most exciting new developments in the subfield? How are the concerns of poly-vocal feminist theory and practice being brought into political ecology? How are the insights generated by feminist political ecologists influencing environment-society studies more generally?' Authors could respond to any of those questions, or related issues as they choose. We are also happy to accept non-academic perspectives and visual/creative artistic responses as well. Please send submissions to patrick [dot] bigger [at] uky [dot] edu by February 1, 2012. Responses will be published shortly thereafter on politicalecology.org.

For responses to previous prompts, please see here and here.
